Founding BSA Venturing Big Event Sponsors

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back sponsored the Boy Scouts of America, Camelback District Grand Canyon Council’s Founding Venturing “Big Event” held at BSA camp Heard Scout Pueblo in April. Our $2,500 sponsorship was put to good use helping the local BSA chapter provide positive experiences for local young people emphasizing adventure, leadership, personal growth and public service.

What is Venturing?

The Venture Scout program is for young men and women who are at least 13 years of age, have completed the eighth grade and are under 21 years of age. Each meaningful life-skill and personal growth activity learned through Venturing will better prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.

BSA Venturing Big EventThe program also provides the skills needed for young adults to make ethical choices and avoid potentially harmful pressures they may face from within their peer groups.

During each “Big Event,” current Venture crews join new recruits and potential crews to learn and participate in a full weekend of activities that include:

  • SCUBA instruction
  • Pistol Shooting
  • COPE (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) course
  • Rappelling
  • Airsoft competition
  • Social activities
  • Camp outs on Friday & Saturday night
  • Interfaith worship service Sunday morning
