How did Susan G. Komen for the Cure® start?

Susan G. Komen for the Cure® was started from a promise that Susan’s sister, Nancy G. Brinker, made to her to do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever.

Today, the global leader of the breast cancer movement has invested nearly $1.5 billion to help find a cure for breast cancer since the organizations inception in 1982.

As the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists, the organization is working to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. promised her sister that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever.

Thanks to events like the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®, and generous contributions from partners, sponsors and fellow supporters, they have become the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
