Once again Lerner and Rowe Gives Back has done an unbelievable job partnering with Phoenix Rescue Mission to feed the hungry and change lives during the holidays. You helped us collect 60% of our goal of 1000 turkeys. For that, we are truly grateful.

Thanksgiving should be a wonderful time of the year to share a delicious meal and observe family traditions while being surrounded by friends and family. But for some families, they need to make difficult decisions whether to spend their limited funds on a big Thanksgiving Dinner or have enough money to keep the electricity on in their house.

Thanks to Lerner and Rowe Gives Back, these low income families will enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner with ALL THE FIXINGS· including a tasty turkey. On Saturday November 18th, PRM volunteers will personally deliver 1000 food boxes to needy families across the Valley.

1K Turkey GiveawayLerner and Rowe teams up with Tucson Appliance and Furniture Company to support the Tucson community by putting 1,000 turkeys on 1,000 tables this Thanksgiving at the first 1K Gobbler Giveaway on Sunday, November 19th. Tucson families are invited to attend the fun and FREE event located at the Boys and Girls Club of Tucson Frank and Edith Morton Clubhouse (3155 E. Grant Rd., Tucson, AZ.) from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

600 Frozen Turkey Donation to Phoenix Rescue Mission

Lerner and Rowe kicks off the holiday season by giving the Phoenix Rescue Mission 600 frozen turkeys this past Saturday to fill the bellies of Phoenix families on Thanksgiving. We are so fortunate to be part of a community that cares and that gives back to help our fellow neighbors in need.

The Phoenix Rescue Mission is doing great things for the local community to ensure that many families have food on their tables over the holidays.

There are three ways that you can help make a difference in the lives of the homeless and hungry in Phoenix this Thanksgiving:

  1. Drop off a frozen turkey at the the Mission’s Community Solutions Center located at 1801 S. 35th Ave.
  2. Fill a box with non-perishable Thanksgiving sides for a disadvantaged family to use to make Thanksgiving dinner in their own home. Decorations and notes of encouragement and best wishes are also welcome “sides” to include in the box. These boxes will be distributed on the Saturday before Thanksgiving so donations need to be to the Mission by Friday, November 17th.
  3. Donate $1.92 to the Mission to provide someone with a hot Thanksgiving dinner at Phoenix Rescue Mission.

AZ NFF – Valley of the Sun Chapter TopGolf Fundraiser

National Football Foundation26th Annual Scholarship TopGolf Tournament

AZ NFF is a non-profit football foundation that recognizes academic, athletic, and coaching excellence at the college, high school and youth levels. The football foundation’s mission includes “making athletics better for kids, and making kids better through athletics.” Kevin Rowe, the founder of our Lerner and Rowe Gives Back foundation, is serving his sixth consecutive year as a board member of the local Valley of the Sun Chapter for the NFF.

In this role Kevin actively supports the foundation throughout the year through sponsorships, donations and special appearances at fundraiser and awards events. This Friday, Kevin will join other NFF and community members at the 26th Annual Scholarship TopGolf Tournament to benefit the local chapters scholar athletes.

10th Annual Paul’s Car Wash to Benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona

10th Annual Paul's Pay it Forward Car WashJust like previous years, team members of the law offices of Lerner and Rowe, PC will be washing cars for “Paul’s Pay it Forward Car Wash” and donating funds ($10,000 for 2015, 2016 & 2017) to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona (BBBSAZ).

Having grown to a week-long community event from it’s inception 10 years ago, this amazing annual fundraiser hosted by CBS TV 5 news anchor Paul Horton has become a fun tradition. Live entertainment, special guest appearances by professional sports teams’ mascots and cheerleaders, costumed film and TV characters, and more make this a community event locals can enjoy while supporting the mission of BBBSAZ.

The Big Brothers Big Sisters Donation Center will also be on site collecting clothing and household items.

10th Annual Paul’s Pay it Forward Car Wash Details

Rain or shine, the car wash will remain open with anchor Paul Horton and other CBS 5 news crew hosting live broadcasts. Here are the details:

Dates: October 16th – 20th

Time: 4:30 AM – 7:00 PM daily

Main Location: Desert Ridge Marketplace (NW Corner of the Parking Lot near Barnes and Noble)

Secondary Location: A second car wash will be hosted by CBS TV 5’s sister station 3TV on Friday, October 20th located at the SanTan Village location of Jacksons Car Wash (2870 S. Market St., Gilbert, 85296) from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

5th Annual Feeding Matters Community Luncheon $10K Sponsorship

Feeding MattersLerner and Rowe Gives Back joined other community organizations in supporting Feeding Matters with a $10,000 sponsorship of their 5th Annual Community Luncheon held today at The Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix, AZ. In addition to members of Lerner and Rowe Gives Back, other charitable foundation representatives were among the approximated 900 attendees that included business owners, community leaders, families, and healthcare professionals.

The luncheon served as both a fundraiser and awareness event to help support Feeding Matters’ vital programs and initiatives. Children and families who are achieving success because of the work of Feeding Matters presented their first-hand experiences.

What Feeding Matters Does to Make a Difference

Pediatric feeding disorders often compromise a child’s health and development by making it difficult or impossible for a child to eat, drink, or digest food normally.  Feeding Matters was developed to help accelerate identification, ignite research, and promote collaborative care for children and families because too many children were suffering from pediatric feeding disorders due to:

  • Lack of trained specialists;
  • Limited early identification, intervention, and treatment options; and,
  • Failure of the general public to recognize pediatric feeding disorders as real medical conditions.

By partnering with families and healthcare professionals and raising overall awareness about pediatric feeding disorders, Feeding Matters is making progress by helping others understand this real medical condition.
