Lerner and Rowe Gives Back is very excited to be part of the one year anniversary of the #LovePup It’s Hip to Chip microchipping initiative. This is #LovePup’s biggest program yet, and we’re so pleased to be a part of it for another year.
One Year Anniversary Details
Join us in celebrating the success of the It’s Hip to Chip program and meet some of the microchipped dogs that have been adopted out to furever homes over the past year.
Event highlights include dog food and treats handed out by Safeway/Albertsons for the four-legged guests, tasty offerings from food trucks for the two-legged guests, and educational information explaining the importance of microchipping. AZ Pet Vet will also be microchipping all dogs that come without microchips.
Details to save:
DATE: Saturday, May 11, 2019 TIME: 9:00 a.m. to noon LOCATION:Maricopa County Animal Care and Control West (2500 S. 27th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85009)
Why It’s Hip to Chip
The It’s Hip to Chip Program aims to ensure that all dogs adopted from either of the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control Animal Shelters locations receive a microchip upon their adoption. Microchips make it easier for owners to find their lost pets.
By storing the owner’s contact information in a database, a microchip takes the guesswork out of trying to find a runaway pup. And, since the microchip is implanted under the dog’s skin, there’s no need to worry about losing the device like a collar or tag.
The People Who Love Pups
Radio host Johnjay Van Es and his family have been fostering stray dogs for adoption in their home for years. The entire family shares a passion for helping animals and preparing them for their future forever home. Since the creation of #LovePup, the family has rescued, fostered, and found homes for over 500 dogs. Van Es uses the power of social media to screen interested owners and match the dogs with the perfect home.
Lerner and Rowe Gives Back would like to encourage you to adopt your next family friend instead of buying. Check out the #LovePup Foundation for an array of furry companions waiting for their forever home.

During the holidays most families gather in their homes to celebrate Christmas. However, it dawned on our Las Vegas outreach team that the ladies residing at Hoving Home would be celebrating Christmas away from their families.
That is why in the middle of delivering toys to impoverished children across the Las Vegas Valley, we decided to spread the blessings of the season to the ladies at Hoving Home. We were determined to help create the most enjoyable Christmas celebration under the circumstances.
Something Was Amiss
Upon entering the Hoving Home, we couldn’t help but notice the large living area with high ceilings was missing a Christmas tree and presents.
“Growing up, the one memory that never fades for me is the time family gathered around to decorate a Christmas tree. Our outreach team wanted to provide that same experience for the ladies residing at Hoving Home and the support staff since they were spending Christmas away from their homes and families,” shared Guy Williams, community outreach coordinator at Lerner and Rowe Injury Attorneys. “We were honored to have the opportunity to gift Hoving Home with a beautiful Christmas tree to help make their celebration that much closer to what we enjoyed as children.”
Gifts to Make the Season Brighter
After learning that many of the ladies at Hoving Home have children offsite who may not receive a Christmas present, we wanted to help the mothers give their children the same type of joyful memories we created for their enjoyment.
The one gift we felt comfortable giving, that would be universally appreciated by all children, was a shiny new bicycle. So we purchased some bikes. Then we loaded them up into Santa’s U-Haul. Finally, we made one last special Christmas delivery to the mother’s at Hoving Home.
Witnessing the mother’s faces glow with happiness was among the best gifts our team could have received. Each woman couldn’t have be more pleased to know they had a bicycle to give their kid(s).
“We understand the courage and sacrifice that each of these ladies are making to piece their lives back together. This is why we wanted to take away some of the sting of being away from their homes and families during Christmas,” stated attorney Glen Lerner.
Lerner and Rowe Injury Attorneys partners with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Calvary Chapel Spring Valley, and Valley Bible church to give away 2,000 Christmas presents to children of all ages.
Where: 3820 Pennwood Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89102
When: December 14, 2018
Why: To give back to underprivileged children in need.
Santa will be driving a U-Haul truck that is decorated for Christmas up the alley of a high-density apartment complex that houses up to 1,000 children. Metro will seal off both ends of the alley to prevent cars from driving through the 2-hour Christmas event. Santa will give out candy canes and take pictures with families while they are waiting in line to pick up their presents.

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back Sponsors Project Hero Honor Ride 2018
Lerner and Rowe Gives Back is proud to have sponsored the annual Project Hero Honor Ride for 2018.
The Project Hero Honor Ride is a non-competitive cycling event where people who are active in the military, veterans, first-responders, and others all get to ride on a variety of trails, anywhere from 10 – 100 miles in length. Project Hero was founded in 2008, and it is a groundbreaking national non-profit organization dedicated to helping veterans and first responders who are affected by PTSD, TBI, and other injuries find resilience and joy in their lives.
Our own IT Manager, Jan Santiago, showed up to the November 10 event, along with over 750 other riders to the 62-mile-long course in Las Vegas. The trail began at the Clark County Government Center, went south down Las Vegas Boulevard, west around Red Rock Canyon, and finally downhill back to the start.
The Las Vegas Fire Department, its Honor Guard, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police all showed up to honor our veterans. The event began with the hoisting of the American flag between two fire trucks, and riders on nearly every type of bicycle began their ride by passing through twenty American flags at the starting line, symbolizing the average oftwenty veterans who commit suicide on a daily basis because of PTSD.
Also, spread the message: Never forget our veterans and all those who have honorably served our country!

Sponsors of Family Promise of Las Vegas Volunteer Appreciation Party
The Lerner and Rowe Gives Back team recently sponsored a volunteer appreciation event for Family Promise of Las Vegas. The event took place at the Railroad Museum in Boulder City, Nevada.
Thanks to Lerner and Rowe Gives Back’s sponsorship, approximately 85 volunteers were able to enjoy access to the museum which was later followed by a one-hour train ride. As they soaked in the history of the 100-year old rail cars, they also enjoyed a nice meal and entertainment.
“Partnering up with Family Promise of Las Vegas for this appreciation event was an easy choice. That was primarily due to the vital role they play in helping families with children in Clark County achieve sustainable housing. Unlike homeless shelters in our community, Family Promise is focused on providing overnight shelter and meals to individuals. They are also among the few that provide sustainable housing, especially for families with children. Since Family Promise is the only local organization filling these vital needs for individuals and families with children, we wanted to support them,” said Guy Williams, community outreach manager at Lerner and Rowe Injury Attorneys.
Organization volunteers fill a variety of roles at each hosting site. These roles include cooking, serving meals, socializing with the guests, assisting parents with children and providing overnight stays. Volunteers also help with running the Day Center, fundraising activities and guest events.
“The volunteer program is the core of the Family Promise network. Therefore, we wanted to bless those who bless needy families in our community,” stated Glen Lerner.
Following the volunteer appreciation event, Program Services Director, Barbara Coggins stated, “We are thankful for Lerner and Rowe’s generosity in underwriting the evening. It was an awesome experience. It was the best appreciation event for our wonderful volunteers, and our volunteers are the backbone of Family Promise Las Vegas.”
